Fight or Flight
“When the one we love hurts us the most, we must find the inner strength to spread our wings”
This story follows Jane as she arrives home from the hospital to a broken apartment that reflects the damage the violence has on her physically and mentally. Bandages and healing scars do nothing to protect her from reliving the horror of that night her most trusted husband, turned violent. Every instinct tells her to run but a call for help from someone else, reminds her of the hero she still is, DRAGONFLY and gives her the strength to keep fighting.
This short explores the far reaching effects of domestic violence, no matter who you are, and the strength it takes to move on, to keep living.
“Intimate partner violence accounts for 15% of all violent crime. Women between the ages of 18-24 are most commonly abused by an intimate partner. Domestic victimization is correlated with a higher rate of depression and suicidal behavior.“
